Ideas for songs to cover by people that I am jotting down before breakfast

The Postal Service should totally cover "Smothered In Hugs" by GBV. Is there a petition I can use to get them to do so? All I can hear is how cut-up orchestras would sound behind swells and stuff and little Benji Gibbard kicking ass on the chorus.

Also: I want to cover "Birds" by Quasi, but instead of having it be a cutesy pop song burst in with like 53028 vocal harmonies at the beginning (all Queen style) and then just have the instrumentation explode behind me and run frantically until the end of the song (like a more panicked "The Moon" and probably without horns).
